Fewer things, done properly
July 14, 2026 · 2 min · Clarity
The temptation is always to add. Another project, another feature, another goal for the quarter. Adding feels like progress. It's motion, and motion looks like ambition.
But attention doesn't multiply. Split it across ten things and each one gets a tenth of you. Everything moves; nothing arrives.
Clarity is mostly subtraction. Naming the few things that actually change the year, and being honest that the rest are just noise wearing the costume of opportunity. It's uncomfortable, because saying no to a good idea feels like a loss.
It isn't. The loss is spreading yourself so thin that nothing you make is ever finished well. A few things done properly will always outlast a pile of things done halfway.
Pick the few. Protect them. Let the rest wait, or let them go.
