The hard middle
June 16, 2026 · 3 min · Spirituality
Beginnings get the energy. Endings get the applause. The middle gets neither, which is why so many things dissolve there.
In the middle the novelty is gone and the finish line is still out of sight. The work is ordinary. The doubt is loud. Progress is hard to photograph.
That is also where character forms. Anyone can start. Plenty of people can celebrate. Fewer keep faith with a thing when it no longer entertains them.
The hard middle is not evidence you chose wrong. Often it is evidence you are finally doing the real portion of the path: the part that shapes rather than dazzles.
If you are in that stretch now, this is the company you keep. And if you want a longer companion for it, The Struggle Is The Path was written for exactly that place.
